Microstructures for security, astronomy and life science applications
Microstructures can enable reduced analysis times for point-of-care diagnostic devices, increase authentication of goods to combat counterfeiting, and improve the performance of ground-based telescopes searching for distant exoplanets. These are just a few examples, but show the diversity of how microstructures have become essential in many aspects of everyday life. In this talk I will give a review of the work which has been carried out during the past two decades within the BioMEMS group at the Ångström Laboratory, Uppsala University, and point out which directions we are going.
