Junior Scientists prepare themselves to take over leadership responsibilities

At the beginning of September, the BrainLinks-BrainTools junior scientists and the mentees of the kite mentoring program enjoyed the opportunity to participate in a workshop on leadership organised by Dr. Luise Goroncy, Andreas Meinel and Jan Deubner. The workshop was financially enabled by the BrainLinks-BrainTools Graduate Program and the kite-mentoring program.

The junior scientists were guided through the theory of leadership, including, amongst others, motivation techniques, communication, body language and team dynamics by the experienced and professional leadership coaches Konstanze Bittroff and Daniel Hansen. The theoretical background was directly applied through practical exercises to enable the experience of leadership. The workshop was enriched by the beautiful location of Staufen with its local castle and a Karaoke evening that needed to be organised in a team challenge with limited resources by the junior scientists themselves.

In June a career dinner took place, where participants could hook up with stakeholders from the private sector. There will be more events like that for the junior scientists in the future.
