PhD students are presenting their work in a podcast series

Giving you a thick ear in the new year: To spotlight the research of Freiburg junior scientists, podcasts going under the name of “NeuroLounge” are produced at the cluster of excellence BrainLinks-BrainTools since recently. In the next weeks seven PhD students and their contribution to the cluster will be presented on BrainLinks-BrainTools’ native Soundcloud-Page. Three episodes and a teaser are already available:

The guests are reporting in English about their scientific background, their motivation to work with BrainLinks-BrainTools, their actual research topics as well as interdisciplinary collaborations within the cluster. The idea popped up in a PhD students’ course on science communication which BrainLinks-BrainTools offered together with the Bernstein Center Freiburg last summer for the first time. The program hosts are junior scientist representative Andreas Meinel and his lab companion Sebastián Castaño, technical assistance comes from science communicator Levin Sottru. The recording is done in a room where usually realtime EEG experiments are conducted (and where sound studio components are used).
