The Faculty of Engineering's spin-off company CorTec will move to the FWTM-building, which is still under construction, at Freiburg's exhibition and conference centre in 2018. With about 1500 qm for production, laboratories and offices, the address offers much more space than the one at the Faculty. The CEOs have signed a leasing contract over 10 years - Congratulations!
CorTec GmbH, founded in 2010, is a medical engineering supplier focusing on innovations in the field of neuroprosthetics. It is strongly related to BrainLinks-BrainTools over the Biomedical Microtechnology Lab of Prof Dr Thomas Stieglitz, who encouraged the founding of the company and who is engaged as its scientific advisor since day one. CorTec's products are not only based on research done in his lab, but also on the neurotechnological advances made in BrainLinks-BrainTools over the last years.
