A powerful appearance at AI delegation trip

President Macron announced his strategy for artificial intelligence (AI) in March. Now, the minister for Science, Research and Arts of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Theresia Bauer, traveled to Paris, accompanied by professor Wolfram Burgard from Freiburg (coordinator of BrainLinks-BrainTools), professor Geiger from Tübingen, professor Unkelbach and delegates of Baden-Wuerttemberg.

The meeting focused on the question, how Europe could become a world-class research center for AI. Concretely it was about planning an AI network together with Baden Wuerttemberg as a strong partner. “Baden-Württemberg as the strongest region in research and innovation in Europe, with an industry that is very affine to research has to be an intense anchor point in a border-crossing AI network”, underlined Theresia Bauer. Professor Burgard reports the vivid discussion and collaboration interest from both sides. Finally the objective of the AI network is to find a European solution to cope with the supremacy of the USA and China in this field that is so important for our future.
