MAGNETIC RESONANCE MICROSCOPY FOR IN VITRO EPILEPSY
Up to know, the underlying mechanisms leading to epilepsy still remain unclear. Therefore, it is essential to find early markers of epilepsy in order to enable an effective treatment. Within the MAGRITE project we aimed at dynamically monitoring the structural and molecular changes accompanying epileptogenesis at the limits of technical feasibility. To reach this goal we used high resolution magnetic resonance microscopy of organotypic hippocampal slice cultures (OHSC), which enabled us to measure a defined neuronal network repetitively.
