Rosa Cossart is one of the leading female scientists worldwide examining the development of hippocampal neuronal networks as well as their function in the mature organism. She applies state-of-the-art 2-Photon imaging techniques in living animals during behaviour to determine the functional integration of neurons during postnatal development and their role in the control of cognitive brain functions. She is head of the Institute of Mediterranean Neurobiology (INMED), one of the largest Neuroscience centers in France.
