Young people invited to a comic drawing workshop in October/November

BrainLinks-BrainTools, the cluster of excellence at the University of Freiburg invites pupils to participate in the Comic-Lab „Hirn-Strips. Neurotechnologie grafisch erzählt“ in their fall break. On October 31 and November 2-4, 2016, 16 young people get the chance to take a look into the laboratories of the neurotechnological cluster as well as to practice drawing.

Participation is free of charge. Write an email until October 24 to enroll: anmeldung(at)brainlinks-braintools.uni-freiburg.de

The researchers at the cluster of excellence develop technologies that are interacting directly with the nervous system. These are used to treat neurological and psychiatric diseases. After the completion of the first drawing exercises and an introduction to brain and neurology, the participants are looking for stories and impressions: That leads them to the labs of Freiburg neuroscientists, engineers and medical doctors specializing in neurology. They will be able to talk to people who suffer from neurological diseases and who can benefit from neurotechnologies. Illustrator Ludmilla Bartscht subsequently assists them in planning and drawing a comic story. The results of this workshop will be exhibited in the Museum für Neue Kunst in November.
