Bringing technology transfer to life

BrainLinks-BrainTools to establish Forum for Applied Neurotechnology (FAN)

To encourage cluster scientists dealing with intellectual property, BrainLinks-BrainTools has built up the Forum for Applied Neurotechnology (FAN). This service is organized by Prof. Dr. Thomas Stieglitz and Dr. Patrick Ruther and focuses on education as well as counseling concerning patent submissions. For this purpose, there will be info events and workshops taking place on a regular basis, kicking off with the half-day workshop “Von der Idee zum Medizinprodukt” on September 16, 2016.

By the assistance of guest speakers from our network of partners, an atmosphere by which participants are affected to engage commercially more often, is created. At the same time, they are to critically reflect the feasibility of spin-offs and start-ups for scientists. Among the partners are several Fraunhofer Institutes, the NMI in Reutlingen and the professional association microTEC Südwest. In cooperation as well as single-handedly, BrainLinks-BrainTools would like to be present at the most important conferences with FAN satellite events in the future.
