University of Freiburg honours kite-mentoring program with the Bertha-Ottenstein Award

We are pleased to announce that kite-mentoring has been honoured with the Bertha-Ottenstein Award of the University of Freiburg. Every year, the university awards the prize for outstanding achievements, innovative projects and structural measures in the area of the empowerment of women and gender equality. This year, the prize goes jointly to the mentoring programs kite-mentoring and Justitia Mentoring. Kite-mentoring supports the strategic career development and networking of female scientists in the natural and life sciences during their doctoral and postdoctoral phases through mentoring, training, networking and coaching. This network, initiated by BrainLinks-BrainTools, which connects more than 300 mentees and alumnae, celebrated its 10-year success story in 2023, which is now being honoured with this award.

Special thanks also go to the funding partners and industry partners of kite-mentoring and to the participants, without whom such a successful network could not exist.
