The meeting focused on the topic of “Wearables and Digital Medicine”. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Stieglitz gave an impressive presentation on the Center's research at the interface of neuroscience, neurotechnology and robotics. The presentation by Prof. Dr. Dr. med. Reto Wildhaber from the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland, who reported on ECG smartwatches and powerful signal analysis methods in the medical field, also met with great interest. The presentations impressively illustrated the potential that lies in the combination of wearable technologies and digital medicine.
The official introduction of Sören Langela-Schlechte, the new member of the micromedicine group of microTEC Südwest e.V., was another important item on the agenda. The exchange of personnel brings new impetus to the group and promotes increased cooperation.
The exchange within the group resulted in findings in the form of overlapping problems and possible collaborations for targeted solutions.
The specialist group continues to pursue the goal of advancing micromedical technology as a key technology for more specific diagnostic procedures, more effective therapies and rehabilitation aids suitable for everyday use.
