Baden TV Süd featured BrainLinks-BrainTools project CEILing at POP UP INNOVATION in Freiburg's city center

From July 19 to 21, 2023, NEXUS Experiments offered hands-on and participatory research at POP UP INNOVATION in Freiburg's city center. Visitors could become active themselves as robot trainers during the presentation of CEILing, a research project of the BrainLinks-BrainTools center on interactive robot learning.

In the Corrective and Evaluative Interactive Learning (CEILing) project, researchers are using the interactive learning approach to train robots to perform complex tasks. Instead of using prerecorded demonstrations, humans provide direct feedback to the robot while the robot performs the task independently.

The Baden TV Süd feature is available here:

Freiburg's first pop-up innovation store, run by Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG (FWTM) takes place from June 16 to July 31, 2023, in the Unterlinden Quarter.  With changing exhibitions and presentations, companies, start-ups, organizations and research institutes let the public take a look behind their scenes.

As a platform for participation-oriented science outreach and community-based research at the BrainLinks-BrainTools Center of the University of Freiburg, NEXUS Experiments is engaged in this new opportunity for knowledge transfer with different formats.

Special thanks go to Nick Heppert and Adrian Röfer from the Robot Learning Lab under the supervision of Prof. Abhinav Valada.

With kind support from the Carl Zeiss Foundation.
