To promote gender equality in general, and to facilitate academic careers for female scientists in particular, BrainLinks-BrainTools is implementing three main strategies:

• Career Development:
  - kite-mentoring
  - Welcome Back Fellowships
  - Topically expanded job openings

• Education:
  - Regular gender talks at the annual cluster meetings
  - Close cooperation with Gendering MINT initiative

• Family Friendliness:
  - Child care program during conferences
  - Research assistants for expectant mothers
  - Family-open office
