The award ceremony took place on 10 June 2015 within the framework of the "Dies Universitatis."
The Bertha-Ottnestein prize for merits in the area of equal opporutnities, awarding a financial prize of 5.000 Euros, was awarded for two initaitves:
Prof. Dr. Ulrike Wallrabe, laboratory for microactuators at IMTEK, was awarded for special merits in the field of supporting equal opportunity for women in engineering sciences. Wallrabe has established a taster course for female high-school students as well as a menotring process for female students by female professors. She herself acts as a mentor for numerous students and does so with especially high engagement.
Kristian Gäckle and Jenny Schnaller have been awarded for their student initiative "Multiplikator_innenprogramm Gender Training." The initiative has as its goal the transfer of theoretical gender knowledge into praxis. Students in gender studies are supported by a gender-trainer and are themselves educated to become such trainers. These students can then offer trainigs for diverse traget groups. The program allows stuents in gender studies to gain insight into a work field and allows students in other subject areas to acquire gender knowledge.
